It's a clear view

When we purchased our Dash a year ago the port side window was cracked down the middle but still sealed. I recaulked the edges then. The port side of the boat faces south. As a result it is constantly heating and expanding and cooling overnight and contracting. This caused the window to begin separating from the VHB tape. So... It needed replacement.


After obtaining a new window from my go-to Corsair dealer Don Wigston, yesterday I removed the old window and today installed the new one. From the photo you will note sharp straight edge tools were used to remove the old VHB tape. Then  citrus based adhesive remover was used, and then the surface was wiped down with acetone. This took a little less than an hour.

Today, armed with 1" 3M VHB tape and Dowsil 795 the new window was installed. This took about 2 hours with the VHB tape installation taking the majority of time.
